HEINZL & STUBBS AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER MUSEUM www.fiapbt.net/museumheinzl&stubbs.htm
Mr. Dwight Stubbs was a great devotee of the day on July
4th, he celebrated with passion and love every year because he loved
everything about peace and freedom. Probably by this subject, was the reason
why the same fate led him to find his own spiritual peace and freedom on the eve of that same day July 4, 2014. Mr.
D. Stubbs was a great dogman, exceptional person, a gentleman
and a pattern to be followed for all
good people with good intentions, whom my wife and me we have many things to be
thankful him like all the American Pit Bull Terrier fans. Thank you Mr.
Stubbs!!!
In the 90's every time that Mar
and me arrived to Phoenix, Arizona, Mr. Stubbs received us at the
airport with a endearing and big smile, a strong hug, with the open door of his
home and his heart, he care us like if we were his family, did everything in
his power to keep us entertained, happy and enjoying everything and everyone.
Since the morning till dusk, he was outstanding to us to give us everything
that we needed during the day, we talked about dogs, showed us all details of
his old dogman memories, experiences, he was very proud to have been fortunate
having known and been a friend of the Reverend
Howard Heinzl, who learned almost everything that he knew about dogs.

dogs such as Nowell's “Lil Independent”, (Stubbs) "Mrs. Heinzl”, etc. "Ollie" was still alive at that
time, was one of the best American Pit Bull Terrier bred by the Reverend Howard
Heinzl. Mr. Stubbs, kept the dogs and the
genetics of his good friend the Reverend when he died in 1989 of stomach
cancer. Mr. Stubbs, a great dogmen and
exceptional people, all a gentleman. Good job Mr. Stubbs!!!

You must
had saw the very much proud that Mr. Stubbs was showed when talking about his dogs. The way like
he took care his dogs showed how much he loved them, his dogs were part of his
family. He could spend hours and hours sitting in his chair, which was prepared
to enjoy being comfortable and near of his dogs (the same chair where he was
found when he died), especially when he finished the work to take care of his
dogs and ended with all daily affairs. He watched it enjoying them, was with
them and they with him. Mr. Stubbs never was alone, he was very happy with the life he had chosen.
I was
happy when I went to help him with the dogs while Mar was waiting inside the
house accompanied by the dogs that living indoors with Mr.
Stubbs, “Cody” and “Norma Jean”, under the order of his pack chief Mr.
Stubbs, take care of her. This made me laugh the first time I saw it thinking it
was a joke, but then I saw that they actually really obeyed the command of
their leader when a occasion Billie, the neighbor of Mr.
Stubbs, tried to enter the home as was his customary at that time while Mr.
Stubbs and me we were taking care the dogs out, then “Cody” and “Norma Jean” jumped the couch to defend Mar, preventing entry
to the house under serious threat Billie aggression if he try it, the dogs
obeying faithfully in this way the orders of its pack chief, which were to
protect Mar, even if it was someone known as was in this case. What intelligent
and great dogs were “Cody” and “Norma Jean” (RIP), worthy representatives of the Reverend
Howard Heinzl dogs.

Mr. Stubbs took us to meet virtually most of Phoenix; The
Grand Canyon; The great Indians Road; Typical malls of the area; Quarter
horses; The Superstition Mountains, etc..Unforgettable moments forever with Mr.
Stubbs!!! It was a very good person,
very kind, considerate, he think that he can not do enough to make us feel
good, like we were in our own home, touring the most popular and typical places
of the earth so that we could to know this places personaly and enjoy the time
in each place and along with him...
Mr. Stubbs knew that I would wish to have one of his dogs.
Without hesitation, in one of our trips he gave to Mar and me like gift to a
special doggie female named “Mrs. Heinzl”, which during the time he was with us until the
end of his life, was the apple of our eyes. What good dog was in every way!!!
... We have so much to thankful to Mr. Stubbs...

One day
came to visit to the Mr. Stubbs Yard another good friend, Ruben Valenzuela, and which after a couple of hours of
conversation, he invited us to go to his house to meet and to know his family
and their dogs. Ruben Valenzuela
like Mr. Stubbs, we opened the doors of his house, his beatiful
family and his great heart like only the good and great people know do it. Ruben Valenzuela, another great breeder
and dogman in the history of the breed dog American Pit Bull Terrier, besides
being an extraordinary person and all a gentleman.
Jhon Fonseca, Al
Brown & the
Reverend Howard Heinzl.
One day Ruben Valenzuela, Mr. Stubbs, Mar and me, we were
ready to go to visit the old breeder and dogman Jhon Fonseca, but we had to cancel it because unfortunately he had
just died the day before. I think to remember that he died with 92 or 94 years
old, a lifetime. Jhon Fonseca, another great breeder and dogman in the history
of the breed dog American Pit Bull Terrier, which together with the
Reverend, Colby, Stubbs, Al Brown, Valenzuela, Tudor, R. Peña, etc., they made amazing things in the breeding with this
doggies.
I could
write for hours and hours without stopping, recalling anecdotes and experiences
with Mr. Stubbs, but for not to dwell too much I think I'll
leave it here, because what I wanted to show publicly for all those that not
had lucky enough to know him, I think that with that has been reflected enough
well to give an idea of the great breeder and great person that we have lost
within the international community of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Thanks for everything Mr.
Stubbs!!!
Mr. Stubbs, right now you can talk about dogs with your friend the Reverend, you have many things to
talk about.
Mr. D. Stubbs, Rest In Peace. We will never
forget you!!!
