since we considered that it is a way to spoil it, diminishing the fan enjoying
and would damage to an historical value, which is patrimony and inheritance of the own breed.

estropearlas disminuyendo el disfrute del aficionado y deteriorando un valor

The
Maurice Carver Museum that the FIAPBT has created for him, comes
to be a posthumous tribute to the “Silver Fox”, where little to little
we will be showing his work and his life, even we will show some secrets and
curiosities which it until this moment were not known for the majority of the
fans about his life, his dogs, his properties and the people that had the
privilege to be in his surroundings, so that these details are by always in the
fans memory and complement more the documented breed history.
El Museo de Maurice Carver que la FIAPBT ha creado para el, viene a ser un
homenaje póstumo al “Zorro
de Plata”, en donde poco a poco iremos mostrando su trabajo y
su vida, e incluso, desvelaremos algunos secretos y curiosidades que hasta este
momento eran desconocidas para la mayoría de los aficionados a cerca de su vida, sus perros,
sus pertenencias y de aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de estar en su
entorno, para que estos detalles queden por siempre en el recuerdo de los
aficionados y complementen aun más la historia documentada de la raza.

THEY
ACCUSE TO CARVER OF MURDER.
WHAT
YOU WERE DOES IF SOMEBODY COME TO KILL YOU AND YOU SEE
IT AT THE JUST MOMENT BEFORE YOU ARE KILLED? Some at the time accused Maurice
Carver of assassin, even at present some bad people continue accusing him. In
the cut of newspaper of that time, (which is in the part down), was spoken of
the case. It was demonstrated in the judgment that Maurice Carver acted in self-defense, without intention to make damage. Carver had its judgment
and was acquitted without positions to the declared being INNOCENT.
THE TRUTH SHALL
SET YOU FREE...... Mid 1960's
-The Editor (Pete Sparks) believes that the truth should be published about
the recent unfortunate incident which took place in the home of our old friend
and fellow fancier, Maurice Carver.
-Stories have been
making the rounds about this case, and in all due respect to our compatriot,
the truth as we know it, should be in the hands of all.
-James C. Brock, a
32 year old, two time resident of the state penitentiary for burglary, entered
the home of Maurice Carver about 3 p.m., on a Sunday, and drew a pistol and
threatened to kill Carver.
-Carver served in
the Marines during World War II, and had been well schooled in hand to hand combat,
so grappled with his assailant, who managed to fire one shot, which was a bit
low, otherwise Maurice would have been sexless. Gunpowder from the firing of
the pistol did scorch his underwear and trousers, it was that close. Brock was
apparently using a British Army .45 caliber pistol,
and police found that one bullet had been fired and the pistol had five live
rounds. The State Troopers also found five cartridges of the same type in
Brock's jacket.
-Carver, in
grappling with Brock, attempted to get control of the gun, and finally managed
to reach his own .357 magnum pistol from a drawer near the sink.
Carver told the Editor (Pete
Sparks) that
the gun was loaded with steel jacketed cartridges which he was using for target
practice, therefore they went right on through and did
very little damage. Brock was shot once in the neck, right arm, left chest,
upper abdomen and Carver said although he shot him, he just kept coming after
him, so he could do nothing but keep shooting.
-Carver was booked
for murder, but was released about an hour later on ten thousand dollars bond.
-Brock was known to have made it a practice to hold up individuals that,
because of the manner of which there money was obtained, winnings from
gambling, etc., that they would not report their loss.
-There was quite a
bit of money being gotten together for the forthcoming dog fight between the
****** dog and the Cracker dog, which was reported in the last issue of the Pit
Dogs magazine, and the supposition is that Brock thought that Carver would be
carrying five or six thousand dollars, pooled for this fight.
-Carver's
attorney, one of the best in the San Antonio area, was granted a writ of habeas
corpus by District Judge Peter Michael Curry; Fred Semaan,
the attorney said it was a simple case of a man defending himself.
-To those who know
Maurice Carver, they know him as a hard man to beat in the dog pit, but they
also respect him as a square dealer.
-This space has
been utilized to bring the true facts, as published in the newspapers and as
told to
the Editor.
-The Grand Jury,
so far, has refused to indict Carver, but the State's Attorney is still after
him.
-The Editor wants
Carver to know that the entire Fraternity is rooting for him.

¿QUE HUBIERA
ECHO USTED SI ALGUIEN VIENE A MATARLO Y USTED SE DA CUENTA DE ELLO EN EL JUSTO
MOMENTO ANTES DE QUE LO MATEN? Algunos acusaron en su día a Maurice Carver de
asesino, incluso en la actualidad algunos siguen acusándolo. En el recorte de
periódico de la época que esta en la parte inferior, se habla del caso. Se
demostró en el juicio que Maurice Carver actuó en
defensa propia, sin intención de hacer daño. Carver tuvo su juicio y fue
absuelto sin cargos al ser declarado INOCENTE.
LA VERDAD PREVALECERA (1965)
- El redactor (Pete Sparks)
cree que la verdad se debe publicar sobre el incidente desafortunado reciente
que ocurrió en el hogar de nuestro viejo amigo y compañero Maurice Carver.
- Los chismes de impresentables
han estado haciendo poco favor a Carver y a la afición del APBT sobre este
caso, y por el respeto que merece
nuestro compatriota, la verdad como ocurrió, deben estar al alcance de todos.
- James C. Brock, 32 años de
edad, estuvo en dos ocasiones preso en la penitenciaría del estado por robo con
allanamiento de morada, entró en el hogar del Maurice Carver cerca de 3 P.M.,
del domingo, y sacó una pistola y amenazó con matar a Carver.
- Carver sirvió en los
infantes de marina durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y había sido entrenado
bien para el combate. Fue atacado por su asaltador, el cual disparo un tiro que
fue ligeramente bajo, si no Maurice hubiera quedado castrado automáticamente.
La pólvora de la pistola chamuscó la ropa interior y los pantalones de Carver.
Brock utilizaba al parecer una pistola británica del calibre del 45 del
ejército, y el policía (Carver) se encontró que una bala había sido disparada
hacia el y la pistola aun tenía cinco balas más preparadas para ser disparadas
en el instante, por lo que debía hacer algo enseguida si quería conservar su
vida. Después en la comprobación Policial se encontró efectivamente cinco balas
en interior de la pistola de Brock.
- Carver, en la lucha con
Brock para conseguir el control del arma para poder salvar su vida, finalmente
pudo alcanzar su propia pistola doble del 357 de un cajón cerca del fregadero.
El Carver dijo al redactor (Pete Sparks) que su arma estaba cargado con balas que se
utilizaban para la práctica del tiro al blanco, por lo tanto sus disparos
hacían poco daño, ya que estas balas tienen poca fuerza. Brock fue alcanzado en
el cuello, el brazo derecho, el pecho izquierdo, el abdomen superior y Carver
dijo que aunque él le disparo, él esperaba la respuesta inmediata de Brock por
la poca fuerza de sus balas, ya que estaba en clara desventaja, pero
milagrosamente consiguió salir vivo de esa situación.
- Carver fue acusado por
asesinato, pero una hora más tarde fue puesto en libertad por diez mil dólares
de fianza.
- Brock era conocido por
ganarse la vida extorsionando a personas y ser un vicioso del juego. Debido a
estas circunstancias, la perdida de Brock no sería recordada ni echado de
menos.
- Brock fue a robar a Carver
pensando que este tenia bastante dinero, ya que
conocía que Carver en breve se disponía a realizar un match y pensaba que
Carver estaría llevando cinco o seis mil dólares para ese match.
- el Juez del Distrito Peter Michael procuró a Carver, uno de
los mejores abogados del área del San Antonio, Fred Semaan, el cual dijo que era un caso muy claro de un hombre que se defendía por
salvar su vida.
- Los que conocen a Maurice
Carver, le conocen como un hombre duro para batir en el hoyo del perro, pero
también lo respetan por ser una persona justa.
- Este espacio se ha
utilizado para aclarar los acontecimientos, según lo publicado en los
periódicos y según lo dicho al redactor (Pete Sparks).
- El Gran jurado, ha
rechazado hasta ahora procesar a Carver, pero el abogado del estado todavía
está detrás de él.
- El redactor quisiera que
Carver supiera que la fraternidad del APBT entera le estamos apoyando.

MAURICE CARVER, HIS DOGS AND HIS FRIENDS.
Maurice
Carver enjoyed the confidence of some of the best dogmen
of that time, which trusted totally with the knowledge of the breed that Carver
tapeworm and were lent to help him in everything what him required to them, to
develop totally his breeding. Some of these dogmen
were; Roonie Hyde, Ray Long, Enrique Morfin, Earl Hunter, Ramiro Morales, Baker Davis, Jim Rorex, Bennet clayton,
Jim Stinson, Norman Hooten, Tom Robinson, Indian
Sonny and many more. All them realised a
great equipment directed by Maurice and with the work of all them, enough
fantastic APBT arose under the influence and parameters that Maurice Carver marked (the person in charge from which that great amount of all
APBT was born, therefore ethically Carver is the breeder of all) to his
friends, that writed its great track in the history
of the breed, APBT like for example; CARVER'S (HYDE´S) SATCH, (CARVER'S)
LONG´S BABY ( MIDNIGHT COWBOY mother ) , (CARVER'S)

dogs.

crossings with other breed dogs.

This is the treadmill that
Maurice Carver conditioned all the greats on. He sold this mill to Randy
McCollum in September 1979 and passed away shortly after in November 1979. The
mill is in working order and is in the same condition that Maurice sold it.
This is the same mill that was on the cover of the Sporting Dog Journal in the
70s, if I'm not mistaken, with

tribute to Maurice Carver when he passed away in 1979. In the picture, appears

IADCRO y la FIAPBT agradecen mucho a todos sus representantes, miembros y
colaboradores, el esfuerzo tan importante que realizan en la difusión de todo lo relacionado con la defensa de las razas
discriminadas y haciendo todo lo que esta en su mano y dentro de sus
posibilidades, para conseguir los objetivos de esta justa causa, a pesar de las
trabas e inconvenientes que sufren en su contra, por parte de algunos que no
les gusta que aflore la verdad y lo justo. La
difusión de
la información de IADCRO, es lo que realmente nos da la fuerza para poder
presionar adecuadamente a los Gobiernos de los países que contemplan Leyes del
tipo
PPP o BSL y de esta manera, ser tenidos en
cuenta. Consecuentemente a esto último, tendríamos más posibilidades para que
la Ley fuera anulada o modificada conforme a nuestra petición, en términos
justos para los perros de cualquier raza o mestizo.

Podemos difundir, corriendo la voz a todos nuestros

de perros, animales, naturaleza, derechos humanos, etc.) y de todas las maneras

información que aparece en la Web de IADCRO, para intentar conseguir
humildemente la colaboración y ayuda que nos podrían aportar los aficionados y
amantes de los derechos de los animales. Sin esta colaboración y ayuda, la
