Ethology is a branch
of animal psychology.As a science of the customs,it studies animal behaviour in their natural
environment, in this case, breeds’ and crossbreds’ among them.Several
Spanish ethologists have claimed in public that there
are no dangerous breeds, that all will depend on the environment where the dog
is bred and of course on the received education.The
behavioural researchers also underline, the no convenience of clasifying breeds to be catalogued negatively.

Interview to the Director of the Clinical Ethology Surgery of the
-Question:Is
it true that aggressive behaviours are transmited
through genes?
-Answer:Aggressive behaviours are learned and these ones
aren’t transmited genetically, the only thing which is transmited
is the ability of learning.I am a vet, I have got
children being a vet and if the learned things were transmited
genetically, I woud have vet children, wouldn’t I?
Most developed cognitive abilities are learned in funcibla .Aggressive behaviour is learned in all occasions.Firstly, the animal needs to
interact with its mother and brothers-sisters in order not to be aggressive in
that environment,they perfectly know the social
relationship in that group and they will live quietly with them.After
that, there is a phase, before three months old in which they interact with
other animal species , the human included.If during
that period they have not been able to socialize, or they have been isolated,
they find themselves with the inability of giving out an adaptative
or alternative behaviour against the atmosphere pressure they have in that
environment.
-Question: In
-Answer: Children are usually aggressive dogs’ victims
because they represent a sector in which these animals haven’t socialized
enough time.Aggressive behaviours towards children
can be apparently normal in those dogs whose owners are old people who have
collected dogs since they were puppies, aged from a month old to two months
old, and they haven’t been able to socialize them with the atmosphere which
they are going to live in.If a child bursts into the
atmosphere the dog is used to getting along with(without the owners concern
about making the animal become acquainted with the new situation), problems can
arise.

LITTLE RELATIONSHIP
WITH CHILDREN AND EVEN THEY AREN’T ABLE TO LIVE WITH
THEM AND THIS IS ANNOYING FOR THEM.THERE ARE MOMENTS WHEN ANYBODY CAN’T STAND
CHILDREN,CAN WE?. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO A DOG AND
SHOWS IT UP IN AN AGGRESSIVE WAY, IN SOME CASES WITH FATAL ENDINGS AS WE
ALREADY KNOW.

Most of the behaviours, both in humans and dogs, are
motivated by the same thing, THERE ARE NO INSTINCTIVE BEHAVIOURS.We
can talk about reflections in some situations, but they aren’t behaviours.Behaviours are concatenated patterns.Aggressivity
is a learned behaviour,NOT NATURAL as both group and maternal
behaviours can be.Aggressive behaviour is learned in
ALL ocassions.
(Answer to the question:Do you know if the Government has checked with
skilled people to create a list of aggressive breeds?).No, it hasn’t.They have asked certain breeds’ breeders, trainers,
etc. And they don’t realise most of
these people don´t know that behaviour is learned.

IADCRO y la FIAPBT agradecen mucho a todos sus
representantes, miembros y colaboradores, el esfuerzo tan importante que
realizan en la difusión de todo lo relacionado con la
defensa de las razas discriminadas y haciendo todo lo que esta en su mano y
